Building a Real-Time Dashboard for a Fintech Startup

When a fast-growing fintech startup approached us with a tight deadline and an ambitious vision, we knew this project would push our capabilities. They needed a real-time analytics dashboard that could handle thousands of concurrent users, display live transaction data, and look beautiful doing it.

The Challenge

The client's existing dashboard was a patchwork of embedded BI tools and custom charts that took 30 seconds to load. Their operations team was making decisions on stale data, and their customers were complaining about the clunky interface. We had 6 weeks to rebuild it from scratch.

Our Approach

We chose Convex as our backend for its real-time sync capabilities, paired with React and a custom charting library built on D3. The architecture was designed for speed — every data point streams live to the client, no polling required.
